Michael Garfunkel is a Principal with Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A. in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate and Business Planning & Transactions Groups. Trusted by clients nationwide, Michael guides businesses through all phases of formation, joint ventures, acquisitions, and complex real estate projects. Serving as counsel to a diverse clientele, he spearheads the acquisition, financing, and disposition of large-scale multifamily residential, assisted living, memory care, and commercial investment properties. Michael’s primary focus is the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia markets, while also adeptly handling matters in other key regions across the United States by way of established relationships with local counsel in many States throughout the country. His sophisticated, solutions-driven approach positions clients for success in today’s dynamic real estate and business environment.

Michael earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law where he was an associate editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law. He served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Lawrence R. Daniels of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a B.S., with honors, in business and management, and at Ner Israel Rabbinical College, where he earned a B.A. in Talmudic Law.
