Robert C. Baker, III represents businesses, investors, developers, lenders, automobile dealerships, and property owners in commercial disputes turning on contract interpretation, business judgment, strategic leverage, and disciplined motion practice. His practice includes commercial real estate disputes, purchase-and-sale agreement litigation, commercial lease and development disputes, construction and mechanic’s lien matters, financing disputes, partnership and LLC disputes, business torts, and class action defense.

Robert has tried or secured summary judgment in dozens of cases. Robert is often called on when a dispute requires both litigation and business judgment. His matters have involved multimillion-dollar real estate transactions, failed acquisitions, distressed assets, specific-performance claims, disputed deposits, ownership-control disputes, and the defense of class action and consumer protection disputes.

Robert earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, graduating cum laude while serving as the executive symposium articles editor of the Maryland Law Review.  While in law school, he was a judicial extern for Judge William M. Nickerson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.  Upon graduation, Robert received the Paul Cordish Writing Award for his scholarship in insurance law.  He completed his undergraduate studies at McDaniel College.
